Job Description Coordinates and performs all aspects of Plumbing/HVAC activities required for the maintenance and improvement of the hospital buildings and plumbing/HVAC systems. Required to use a variety of specialized plumbing tools, sewer machine, pipe threader, plus hand tools. Is required to work from blueprints and schematics. Plans work; Confirms work specifications and code compliance. Does routine plumbing/HVAC maintenance and service calls for plumbing/HVAC. Assists in the development of plans and estimates for various renovations, repairs, and new construction projects for the facility. Required to hold a Master Plumber license and pull necessary permits. Required Education and Experience Education _ Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school. Experience _ Four years of experience in the plumbing trade, including two years in the performance of skilled plumbing. Alternate Education and Experience Completion of a vocational training program in plumbing that includes commercial or industrial level instruction may be substituted for two years of experience assisting skilled trades people. Additional Requirements and Information Some positions within this class series are assigned job duties that may require possession of the Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the Secretary of State as required by Public Act 346 of 1988 to operate a designated state vehicle.
