POSITION SUMMARY:
If you are an applications engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! In this role, you will help drive growth around our proportional valve technology and be the technical expert supporting strategic growth initiatives, project pursuit, implementation, and general project requirements. You will interact with marketing, sales, engineering, and business development in promoting and supporting our proportional products across target segments in the Americas.
AS A PROPORTIONAL APPLICATION ENGINEER, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Supporting sales during customer presentations as a technical specialist for pneumatic electronic proportional valves
Engaging with customers to specify proportional valve solutions that meet both mechanical/pneumatic and controls-related application requirements
Product selection based on application requirements
Interface between the customer and engineering group as needed to create custom solutions
Assist customers in-person or remotely to customize PID control loop settings to optimize application performance
Keep up with the latest industry trends, competitive landscape, new technologies
Handle multiple projects at the same time
Develop technical specification documents and quotes supporting solutions around our proportional products
Provide solutions support by working with customers, sales and business development to provide quotes, pre-sales, post-sales, and systems support

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or other related field of study
Willingness to travel 50%
Technology know-how: PID control loops, closed loop or cascade feedback systems
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Excellent collaboration skills
Excellent presentation and computer skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge about PLCs and programming methods
Controls and/ or programming experience
Basic industry knowledge and experience related to electronic controls
Pneumatic or hydraulic experience
