In this role, you will have the ability to work remotely as well as have requried office time in Sterling Heights/Troy MI.
What You Will Do
Job Summary:
Determines legal liability and pursues responsibility for subrogation activities including the identification and research of subrogation claims.
Responsibilities:
Researches paid claims and answers inquiries from legal firms, including the response to subpoenas, and coordinates with other departments and insurance adjusters.
Interacts with subscribers, policy holders, claimants, witnesses and underwriters to recommend and document the necessary information to close a file.
Reviews claim files to identify, evaluate, analyze and interpret subrogation potential.
Coordinates appropriate steps to secure evidence. Ensures pursuit, development and recovery of claims.
Provides subrogation files to outside counsel to coordinate investigation efforts.
Evaluates completeness and accuracy of documentary evidence.
Records and processes recovery payments and issues payments for subrogation expenses.
Ensures clients and subscribers are reimbursed accordingly if/when recovery is completed.
Complexity of Work:
Within the scope of the job, it requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
What You Will Need
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
Additional Preferences
3 years of Subrogation Claims expereince preferred
