SUMMARY
The Senior Application Engineer is responsible for leveraging expert-level engineering and materials knowledge, sales, and marketing skills to support regional and enterprise accounts to support significant impact on ANSYS Granta software revenue. This role provides technical pre-sales support throughout the entire sales process.
*This position has the ability to sit remote, preferably in any US state operating in Eastern Time Zone.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead in coordinating and executing all technical activities throughout the sales opportunity such as customer meetings and product presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations.
- Work independently, and with small sales pursuit teams, to analyze customers' technical needs, requirements, and state of current infrastructure, operations, and digital product development workflows.
- Architect and demonstrate ANSYS Granta solutions to illustrate business benefit, new process enablement, or streamline customer workflows, in support of the sales process; sales cycle/process will be broad and complex in nature.
- Responsible for articulating ANSYS Granta's value proposition which may include multiple ANSYS products; the presentations must affirm the sales message, differentiate ANSYS, and leave a strong and positive impression to audiences which can include senior company executives.
- Create and present compelling solution proposals by working across various teams and understanding the needs of our customers; create and deliver solution SoW.
- Support Corporate marketing demand generation by providing demonstrations, presentations, etc.
- Conduct customer facing training classes on the usage of ANSYS Granta products.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical discipline + aminimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering/product development environment (design, analysispreferred) / or a Masters + 3 years of experience / or a PhD + 0 years of experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical sales environment (engineering software sales desired).
- Demonstrated use of relevantEngineering software or knowledge of other enterprise CAE, CAD, PLM ordata base software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate and conduct webinars and presentations to customers.
- Logical problem-solving approach and the ability to clearly communicate the situation and proposed solution to the customer.
- Ability to interact effectively with senior business managers.
- Excellent communication (verbal, written) and presentation skills in fluent English.
- Projects a professional image and strong business acumen during customer interactions.
- Possesses a sense of urgency, strong organizational and follow up skills.
- Excellent business desktop software skills (e.g. MS Office).
- Ability to travel up to 50% nationwide, some international travel (post-Covid).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MS Engineering orMBA degree preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical/enterprise sales environment (engineering software sales desired).
- A minimum of 6 years of practical engineering experience and/or in an engineering software environment, CAE/Simulation focus preferred.
- Demonstrated use of relevant Materials Engineering software or knowledge of other enterprise CAE, CAD, PLM ordata base software.
- Must have passion and drive for personal technical excellence and high performance.
- Must have customer service aptitude and maintain customer focus.
