The Dickinson County Healthcare System (DCHS) seeks part-time Registered Nurses (RNs) to join their Nursing Pool in Iron Mountain, Michigan.
The RN Pool provides staffing depth to various units of nursing services. Individual nursing competencies will be considered when assigning a department. Departments include the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Intermediate Care Unit (IMC), Medical, Surgical, Pediatrics, Infusion, Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU), Emergency Department, and Post Anesthesia Care Unit. IMC-ICU will be home base for Pool RNs.
RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Comply with best practices in nursing as well as established hospital policies and procedures to render care of patients.
- Maintain effective, appropriate and professional communication with hospital staff, patients and care providers at all times.
- Serve as relief Charge Nurse, as assigned.
- Provide patient education.
- Utilize and maintain hospital supplies/equipment in a cost effective and safe manner.
- Document and maintain data on patient record.
WAGE/BENEFITS. Starting pay of $27.27 - $35.26 per hour based on years of experience. Positions offer medical, dental, vision, retirement plan, paid time off (sick, vacation) and life insurance.
SCHEDULES AVAILABLE:
- Part-time, 12.25-hour shifts working weekday days or nights with start times of 7am and 7pm; 48-60 hours every two weeks.
- Part-time, 12.25-hour shifts working weekday days or nights with start times of 7am and 7pm; 48-60+ hours every two weeks.
- Part-time, 12.25-hour shifts working weekday nights with a start time of 7pm; 60-72+ hours every two weeks.
The RN Pool positions participate in the weekend rotation schedule.
MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS.
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
- Previous nursing experience in ICU, ACU, Medical/Surgical Unit and/or Emergency Department preferred; recent nursing graduates will be considered.
- Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or ability to obtain within 30 days if hired.
- Certifications in ACLS and/or PALS preferred.
- Certification in Conscious Sedation preferred or ability to obtain within 3 months if hired.
- Ability to manage a diverse workload and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to physically and mentally carry out the functions of this position.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a professional demeanor that ensures trust, competence and compassion amongst patients and team members.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-hire drug screening and background check.
