Ascension St. Mary's Hospital is adding to our team of dedicated associates. Join our team of talented professionals who have a passion for caring as a Shuttle Driver, driving patients to and from Cancer Treatment appointments. This position is based out of West Branch. Responsibilities
Transport people from site while maintaining the assigned schedule.
Operate vehicle in a safe manner. Inform supervisor of any unusual situations or accidents immediately.
Assist riders entering and exiting the vehicle. Comply with all traffic safety rules and regulations.
Assist the department supervisor with the daily activities of the Transportation department.
Inspect and maintain vehicle daily for cleaning and safety issues. Maintain accurate logs per required standards.
Follow established schedules, adjust schedules to meet unanticipated changes, and determine safest and most efficient pickup and delivery routes.
Drive specially equipped van to deliver physically limited persons to various destinations; assure that wheelchair lifts and tie down equipment are properly operated and that riders are delivered to appointments in a timely manner.
Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Drivers License credentialed from the Michigan Bureau of Motor Vehicles required.
Chauffeur license required.
BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
Additional Preferences
Strong ability to communicate with patients is preferred.
