Description:
(3) 2nd shift openings: 2:00pm to 10:30pm (10 to 20 hours of OT per week) Monday through Friday
(0) 3rd shift opening: 10:30pm to 6=7:00am (10 to 20 hours of OT per week) Sunday night through Thursday morning
The chosen candidates will train on 1st shift for a 4 week period (6:00am to 2:30pm) Monday through Friday
Each candidate is interviewing for a material handling role in the material handling bay. This is a very hands on and active job. Candidates will be on the move constantly staying busy. Alro Steel is looking for candidates to be self-motivators that can help improve processes and adjust on the fly (self-motivated, looking for OT, think on their feet, and problem solve). They are not looking for someone who gets a task and puts their head down, completes it, and then waits for another task.
Machinery inside the facility includes: forklifts, side loaders, overhead cranes, shears and saws. The chosen candidate will start out as a Material Handler until they are fully trained then will start operating equipment listed above.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS FOR THE POSITION:
-Ability to read packing slips
-Reading tape measurements, calipers, and micrometers
-Identify material by color codes and size
-Repeatedly lift the material (up to 50lbs), and move material throughout the facility
-Fill out the appropriate documentation
-Operate and maintain the equipment in the facility
-Bundle and stack the materials
-Basic computer knowledge
