GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Lead Technician provides direction and leadership to departments as well as expertise in the areas of evaluation, installation, inspection, calibration and repair of equipment or utility. May be asked to monitor work orders and distribute to Facilities Management team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Performs duties in primary job description of department(s).
- Provides redundancy coverage for the Department. The expectation is the leader will keep department operational during supervisor's absence
- Coordinates, motivates and schedules work for department. Work order prioritization and assignment of tasks to technicians. Manages the daily operations for scheduled and corrective maintenance work orders. Handles work flow conflicts. Has strong working knowledge of CMMS system. Assuring work order information accuracy on the CMMS for asset management. Assuring complete, accurate work order data entry by technicians
- Ensures all repair and maintenance documentation conforms to Joint Commission standards.
- Provides feedback to Supervisor. Provides input to the service section supervisor to perform employee evaluations. Assists employees with completing individual development objectives. As well as department goals. Is involved with employee performance evaluations and hiring on new employees

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires a high school diploma and completion of a vocational/trade program or possesses five years of experience in related fields.
- Requires a minimum of five years' experience in facilities maintenance, healthcare preferred. Demonstrates knowledge and experience in the use of the various power tools used in performance of maintenance duties.
- Valid Michigan driver's license and insurability by the organizations' insurance/liability carrier to operate company vehicles.
Other Qualifications:
- Requires both written and verbal communication skills. Requires re the ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints. Ability to analyze any special needs for projects as ordered. Ability to prioritize requisitions and work appropriately. Requires basic keyboarding skills, Microsoft Office applications. Requires the use of all small hand tools including power tools, drills, drivers, and hand saws.
