Monday-Friday 8a-4:30pm. Will require travel to other clinics and some evening hours.
What You Will Do
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate educational activities planning for an assigned service or population.
Collaborate with nurse managers and staff to assess the learning needs and competencies of staff.
Develop, implement and evaluate educational plans/programs and utilize methods, measurements and tools to evaluate achievement of learning goals.
Serve as a resource for staff in areas of program development, clinical practice, and professional development.
Participate in the coordination and continuity of orientation programs, including preceptor programs.
What You Will Need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Educator specializing in Diabetes Management credentialed from the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (NCBDE) preferred.
Education/Experience:
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
Minimum of associates degree strongly preferred.
RN with experience in managed care activities including management of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, insulin pump and continuous glucose management knowledge.
Would hightly prefer RN who is already certified as a Diabetes Care and Education Specialist or must be willing to obtain within 2-3 years of employment.
