Job Summary
Manages, supervises, coordinates and plans all activities for specified service lines within perioperative services Ambulatory Surgical Center to ensure the operational effectiveness and efficiency of the service line. Collaborates with the leadership team to develop goals providing input related to the development and management of the budget. Develops policies and procedures in coordination with other leaders to support services in the provision of excellent clinical services.
Essential Functions
Assumes day-to-day accountability for the delivery of quality services for specified perioperative service lines including pre-operative and post-operative patient care. Evaluates care is carried out in accordance with regulatory, accrediting and professional practice standards, the philosophy, policies and procedures for the Nursing Division and organization. Ensures nursing practice is in accordance with the Michigan Public Health Code. Assists with interdisciplinary relationships to support improvements in care delivery, patient, staff and physician satisfaction. Evaluation of care delivery is achieved through performance improvement process, monitoring of quality indicators, evaluation of staff performance, and unit rounding. Provides direct patient care as needed.
Monitors, evaluates and reports on environment, culture, and priorities that direct and support care delivery for assigned area. Supports a work environment that promotes retention and embraces diversity. Provides leadership in a manner that is culturally sensitive and preserves autonomy, dignity and rights of patient's, families and employees.
Identifies the needs of service line physicians and coordinates all necessary services to fulfill these needs.
Assesses all service line employee skill levels in order to ensure appropriate.
In collaboration with the service line employees, ensures that all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
Manages the activities of professional, clinical, technical, and support employees. Facilitates the training and continuing education of employees. Provides direction and support to employees to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. Selects, trains, develop, and evaluates staff and initiates personnel actions in accordance with departmental policies and organization philosophy.
Qualifications
Required Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
Preferred Master's Degree MSN
5 years of relevant experience clinical nursing Required
1 year of relevant experience previous supervisory Required
2 years of relevant experience surgical services Preferred
LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross
CRT-Board Cert Nursing Professional Development (BC-NPD) - ANCC American Nurses Credentialing Center
