About the Open Position GHSP, a global technology organization, is currently looking for an Assistant Plant Controller to join our team in Grand Haven, Michigan. GHSP went through a reorganization in Finance to enable global efficiency and scalability and because of that, we are adding an Assistant Plant Controller position to each of our Michigan plant locations. The primary purpose of this position is to support the GHSP manufacturing facility partnering with the leadership team by providing key business analytics and recommendations to drive profitability within the facility. The position will also ensure the facility is in compliance with all relevant financial policies & procedures as well as maintaining the proper level of internal controls. The position also supports the completion of the financial close process and forecasting & budgeting processes. This role reports directly to the Regional Plant Controller and supports the Plant Manager & other operational leaders in the facility. Essential Responsibilities: Financial Business Partner to Plant Operations Position is responsible for analyzing the financial and operational results in terms of costs, forecasts, budgets and trends. Position will provide Plant Operations leadership with relevant information to be used to enhance profit and operational improvements and provide financial planning direction and guidance. This includes but is not limited to: * Key cost variance analysis * Scrap, labor and overhead spending cost analysis * Departmental spending reporting * Daily and weekly operations reporting * Cost reduction identification and support * Asset utilization efficiencies * Downtime and source of loss trends * Product line Sales and Margin reporting * Scenario and business case support # Responsible for the Control & Management of Plant Assets Position is responsible for the internal financial controls with the facility including the assessment and improvement of current controls where necessary. Position is accountable for the accuracy of the general ledger activities for the Plant including the reconciliation of the accounts. Position is responsible to ensure the Plant Assets (Inventory, Fixed Assets etc.) are accounted for in accordance with GAAP and GHSP accounting policies. This includes direct involvement with physical inventory counts & cycle counts as required and analysis and reporting of inventory variances. This also includes supporting the completion of Capital appropriation requests, management and reporting of Capital project spending, and capitalization of the assets. Position is accountable for working with the external auditors in the completion of audits. Responsible for Financial Planning & Month End Activities Position will support the three-day month end closing requirement by completing assigned duties accurately and in a timely matter.Prepare and book necessary accruals and reconcile general ledger accounts as assigned.Position will be actively involved in the completion of 18-month forecasts and annual budgeting processes for the Plant. Position is responsible for working with Plant Operations leadership and departmental managers in the preparation and review of the projections. ##Requirements Are You A Good Fit For This Job?
