SUMMARY
The Senior Desktop Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day engineering and 3rd level support for Munson Healthcare's desktop infrastructure. You will be on point to analyze business requirements and recommend technologies that will enhance availability, reliability, scalability and security. You will work with various teams to provide a complete end user experience and conduct proofs of concept and pilot testing of new solutions. This person will design, build, and enhance the PC imaging process to stay current with hardware and software standards.
Your day to day role will include:
Establishing and maintaining a global desktop infrastructure
Building and maintaining global standard Windows images
Research of emerging technologies for endpoint devices
Coordination with Help Desk, Install Team and other support teams for issue resolution
Creation and maintenance of detailed documentation of Desktop infrastructure, processes and procedures
Planning and implementing hardware and software upgrades
Design and maintenance of the SCCM environment in collaboration with the infrastructure group
Deploying software packages using SCCM
Providing advanced patch management via
Provides technical support of production, development, and/or test windows based and other client and server systems in a 24x7 on-call rotation environment. These systems include sub-specialties of Active Directory, Virtual Machine, Linux-based OS, Citrix, Exchange Server, IIS, SAN, Print Services, business critical applications, and Anti-Virus. Responsible for deploying and maintaining current and emerging technologies, identifying system requirements, installing upgrades, and monitoring system performance. Establishes systems by planning and executing solutions, installation, configurations, and testing of PC and Server hardware and software. Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets and monitoring expenses. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with all levels within the organization. Maintains system performance by performing system monitoring analysis, and performance tuning and troubleshooting system hardware, software, networks, and operating and system management. Schedules, performs and maintains operating system installations and upgrades, as well as layered software packages, in accordance with performance levels.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: • Experience/Education o Must have one of the following (required): ? Associate's degree (preferably IS/Business or healthcare emphasis) with 2 years' relevant experience (IS/Business or healthcare) ? Bachelor's degree (preferably IS/Business or healthcare emphasis) ? 4 years in healthcare or IS/Business experience

ORGANIZATION: Under the general supervision of a Manager but may receive advice and assistance from the Director of Information Systems, Lead Technical Analyst(s). A working relationship with all Information Systems staff must be maintained.
A professional working relationship with staff from user departments, other regional healthcare facilities, and hardware vendors must be maintained. The senior operator is under the supervision of the on call Manager whenever the Manager is unavailable. No managerial and supervisory responsibility.
