Status: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Shift: 7:00am/7:30am start time
Schedule: Monday through Friday; participates in on-call rotation for evenings, weekends, and holidays
Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
*This position will support 3 Affordable Housing locations: Bailey's Grove (Kentwood), Oak Ridge (Grand Rapids), and Station Creek (Caledonia)

Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician performs interior and exterior work involved in the repair, general maintenance, housekeeping, and remodeling of buildings and rooms in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our community, and as may be directed by the Community Manager or Executive Director of Affordable Housing to assure that the communities are maintained in a safe and comfortable manner.

Required Qualifications
• Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have, as a minimum, 5 years’ experience in a maintenance/plant related position.
• Must be knowledgeable of various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems as well as building codes and safety regulations.
• Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing maintenance practices.
• Must possess the ability to plan and carry out programs in repair, new construction, and equipment installation.
• All employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment criminal background check, professional reference checks, TB screen and physical assessment at time of hire. In addition, proof of COVID-19 vaccination or agreement to participate in weekly Covid testing and/or approved exemption is required.
