SRG Global is looking for you to join our team as a Global Warranty Manager in Troy, MI!
The Global Warranty Manager is responsible for leading the warranty analysis and improvement process with SRG Global customers and with our plants; coordinating the tracking and review of parts returned from the field and responses back to the customers. This position supports SRG Global plants to meet customer performance requirements for warranty; drives corrective and preventive actions to our product and process; and is responsible for identifying, quantifying, and prioritizing opportunities and driving improvements to our warranty management program, methodology and systems.
The Global Warranty Manager will support part and data reviews required by the customer to report out on warranty performance and drive corrective actions based on metrics not meeting customer requirements and/or targets. This position will also negotiate claim liability with the customer as appropriate for defect analysis and will be responsible to organize data and reports to present the status of warranty data to SRG Global leadership and customers.
What You Will Do In Your Role- Represent SRG plants at on-site warranty part reviews at OEM customers
- Utilize various Customer Warranty databases and web-based applications to obtain and analyze Customer Warranty Data
- Analyze warranty data in customer portals and report out on trends and early warning signs when necessary to drive down warranty costs
- Create and maintain warranty metrics that are identified as 'key' to success for individual plants and SRG Global
- Assist plants in negotiating debits taken for warranty claims as needed
- Review/audit SRG plant customer concern corrective action responses, verify that the customer is receiving parts meeting customer requirements; challenge where necessary
- Support SRG plants on compliance with customer expectations/requirements regarding Quality & Warranty and support the SRG Global plant in problem solving activities
- Interface with OEM contact and SRG plants/liaisons on analysis timing and corrective action submission
- Responsible for attending OEM training to obtain and maintain proficiency with the data systems when required
- Participate and report on regularly scheduled customer meetings as requested by the customer
- Define lessons learned from 8D presentations outcome and communicate to the organization and future programs
- Define risk analysis to the businessand develop recommendations to mitigate this risk
- Develop and implement recommendations for the warranty department to constantly address gaps and opportunities resulting from its current structure, methodologies and tools
The Experience You Will BringRequirements:- 3+ years of experience related to warranty analysis and management of warranty issues
- Proficiency in quality tools including Failure mode and effect analysis, Statistical Process Control, cause & effect diagrams, adn trend analysis
- Familiarity with dimensional layouts and Performance/Material testing
- Proficiency in selecting and using problem solving methodologies (Red X, DFSS, Kepner Tregoe)
- Ability to lead teams in the analysis and resolution of technical problems
- Ability to develop improvement goals and implement short & long-term plans to achieve them
What Will Put You Ahead- 3+ years of experience in automotive warranty analysis, especially MOP/MIS reports and their use
- A BS and/or a functional knowledge of basic engineering techniques, processes, and concepts
- Quality experience within the Automotive sector and familiarity with ISO/TS16949
- Proficiency with Automotive OEM Warranty portals and applications
- Experience in molding, paint/plating and assembly processes
- Proven Customer interface and negotiation skills
- Ability to make decisions or recommendations based on technical data, critical and economic thinking.
