Job Description
As we move towards our ZERO ZERO ZERO vision for the future, we are looking to add hardworking individuals to our Electrical Component Validations group! On this team, we contribute to that vision by testing and helping to implement electric power management software features that optimize fuel economy for better emissions' performance. We work on all North American vehicles including those that are driving us toward an ZERO crash autonomous future!
As a Sub-System Validation Engineer - Electric Power Management you will be responsible for leading the vehicles level software validation of electric power regulated voltage control features. This includes Transportation mode, Fuel economy mode, and Battery saver mode among many others. You will work closely with our internal feature owners and specialists to execute test procedures and report the results on all GM North American programs. We believe work-life balance is crucial to a team member's success and job satisfaction! This position allows some work flexibility to make sure our diverse team has good work-life integration.
Your Responsibilities:
* Own the development of validation plans and schedules
* Using a given test procedure you will test full vehicle GMLAN (GM local area network) communication to ensure our EPM features are meeting all requirements of feature execution.
* Schedule vehicle properties for your testing
* Analyzes and interprets test data against pass/fail criteria
* Reports test plan status to leadership
* Documents test failures
* Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities with feature owners and DREs
* Participates in closed loop lessons learned activities
* Participates in annual DFSS or similar projects to improve validation process efficiency
Additional Job Description
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelors of Science in Engineering, (Electrical Engineering or Computer Science)
* Applicants should have relevant industry experience and specific experience in the vehicle level software communication.
* Experienced in using Vehicle Spy/NEO Vi Fire tools
* 5+ years of engineering related work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
* Exercisesautonomy in handling sophisticated and ambiguous tasks with minimal mentorship from supervisor
* Outstanding interpersonal and relationship leadership skills to efficiently communicate and collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed
* Experienced in creating/adjusting calibration files
* Excellent organizational skills - Able to manage numerous projects across multiple programs.
* High level of integrity to work independently and effectively with others
