Job Description
Other responsibilities will include:
- You will analyze and implement product or machinery designs for the best method for manufacturing processes
- You will propose and evaluate the processes for equipment in assigned area
- Direct the design, development, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes for assigned area
- You will keep regular contact with partners outside the work group
- You will provide direction to small group of technical employees
- You may evaluate or monitor expenditures for processes and/or equipment
Additional Job Description
In addition this role will be responsible for:
* Provide technical expertise and guidance to the functional teams implementing additive part and tooling projects. Technical knowledge must span the whole additive process including design, analysis, material selection, manufacturing process, and post-processing
* Develop strategic partnerships (industry, academia, equipment makers, etc.) to enable additive capability growth
Requirements:
* Bachelor of Science in Engineering: Mechanical or Electrical
* Knowledge and experience working with additive design & manufacturing processes and materials
* Familiarity and knowledge of the vehicle development process and the associated standard work processes
* Understanding of component and subsystem development/release processes through the Product Development Team
* On-site in Warren, MI approximately 70% of time.
Preferred Skills
* Master of Science in Engineering
* 2+ years of industry or academic experience working in additive design & manufacturing
* 3-5 years of Manufacturing experience
* Previous advanced manufacturing process development experience
* Background or experience in materials science or materials engineering (polymers and/or metals)
* Previous experience working with and operating equipment from leading industrial additive manufacturing systems manufacturers, such as: Stratasys, EOS, Concept Laser, HP, Desktop Metal, Markforged, etc.
* Ability to manage multiple complex projects with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for results
* Experience working in an advanced development environment and able to deal with ambiguity
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills required to build effective cross functional relationships
* DFSS Black Belt Certification
