Job Summary
Develops, conducts, analyzes, and communicates results of both quantitative and qualitative customer and market research projects to facilitate better business decisions throughout the enterprise. Independently designs research projects, including managing surveys and focus groups utilizing best practices; maintains data integrity while compiling and analyzing complex statistical data; interprets data in order to advise business partners with relevant, actionable recommendations. Influences by delivering sound analytics to business partners, including senior management, with clear, concise communications on research findings.
Key Accountabilities
- Conducts regression modeling and data/other analysis to make business recommendations (e.g., cost-benefit, invest-divest, forecasting, predictive, what-if, impact analysis, etc.).
- Develops, modifies, and automates reports and builds dashboards to provide insights at scale, solving for analytical needs.
- Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to understand their research questions and business needs, formulates complete end-to- end analysis that includes data gathering, analysis, ongoing scaled deliverables, and presentations, through scorecards and dashboards.
- Develops actionable insights from in-depth data analysis to help DTE Energy focus on key decisions to improve products, services, and customer satisfaction.
- Designs and develops both quantitative and qualitative research methods, including sample methods and proposals, research design, and surveys, using best practice techniques.
- Manages medium to large projects from beginning through completion, including maintaining research project work plans and budgets; schedules and work activities to ensure they are on-time and on-budget.
- Creates and delivers effective research reports and presentation decks (including visual displays, data graphing, charts, and tables) on research methodology, results, and recommendations to multiple levels of stakeholders, including management.
- Manages fielding and development of surveys, questionnaires and oversees focus groups or other research studies.
- Performs data collection, cleansing, and constructs data sets for statistical/numerical analyses on the data using intermediate to advanced statistical methods and software.
- Interprets research results, identifies key trends and patterns and develops actionable recommendations based on the research results.
- Uses Continuous Improvement principles and tools to identify and implement opportunities to improve quality, cost, and efficiency in delivering research products to enterprise partners.
- Provides research expertise, guidance, and/or work direction in support of team; participates in self-development and supports development of team members.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 3 years of relevant work experience in customer satisfaction research, survey research or business analytics.

- Bachelor's degree in social sciences, math, statistics, economics, or related
- MBA or MS in Marketing Science, Research or related field
- Intimate working knowledge of Qualtrics platform - survey design and dashboard creation
- SPSS or SAS experience a plus

- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

- Knowledge of and ability to independently select and utilize research design best practices and statistical analyses including but not limited to correlations, line and bar graphs and charts, descriptive statistics, frequencies, Pareto charts.
- Strong written and oral communication skills consistent with the ability to present results of projects and research to leaders and partners.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage internal partners, create and deliver presentations, and manage projects from the idea stage to completion.
