Product Development Engineer (Mechanical)
Job Description:
The Product Development Engineer will be responsible for project management and hands-on development of our Group of Companies product development portfolio. The position will further be active in manufacturing process improvement and optimization. Our manufacturing companies are located both domestically and internationally so limited international travel may be required.
This is a unique opportunity to join a young and growing Group of companies that actively develops its product portfolio through internal development and acquisition. The position will report to the Group Managing Director and work collectively with operational teams for project execution.
Responsibilities:
- Managing the design and implementation of multiple products and projects.
- Design, develop, and test processes for producing prototypes and long-term production of products.
- Define quality control criteria and safety guidelines.
- Test products and processes and evaluate results to identify problems and estimate the cost of resolutions.
- Produce detailed designs and/or CAD drawings, acting as the technical expert on products and processes.
- Utilize reverse engineering in the design and implementation of certain products.
- Understanding the deductive reasoning on how a device, process, or system accomplishes a task with very little insight into exactly how it does so.
- Process improvements with existing products.
- Involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of products.
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as instruments, controls, machines, etc.
- Write reports on the current status of the products and projects.
Requirements:
- BA Mechanical Engineer
- 10 Years of Experience, preferably in product development/design.
- Leadership skills and an effective communicator
- Willingness to work hands-on in project execution
- Highly Self-Motivated
- Non-linear thinking
- Ability to travel domestically and Internationally on occasion
