A building automation solutions company is seeking an Electrical Division Manager to join its team. This role is an addition to an existing leadership team and will take ownership for obtaining, estimating, planning, coordinating and completing the work. The Division Manager will also participate in marketing efforts to obtain new clients and projects for the organization. Electrical Division Manager Responsibilities
- Schedule and direct installation projects, ensuring projects are completed on time and under budget
- Work to control costs related to installation projects including but not limited to labor and materials
- Purchasing materials for projects as specified by the estimator or the sales engineer during project turnover; purchasing small tools for projects
- Hire, evaluate, and terminate Journeyman and Apprentice Electricians, holding staff accountable for performance
- Direct all activities within the electrical division, ensure appropriate staffing levels for business volume, and ensure staff is well trained and able to complete work assignments
- Ensure that all paperwork pertaining to jobs is accurate, complete, and turned in on time; maintain required documentation for jobs
- Ensure that all information required for progress billing/invoicing is accurate and complete, and provide office manager with information as required
- Conceptualize electrical projects from start to finish using blueprints, plans, and schematics; each project requires a fresh approach
- Conduct and document safety meetings
- Serve as a key member of the management team and participate in project meetings; be prepared to report on job activities and potential problems on installation projects
- Ensure that all potential issues with customers are resolved in an ethically sound and business-prudent manner
- Enforce the policies and procedures of the company as well as all related state and federal laws, guidelines, and regulations
Electrical Division Manager Qualifications
- Master Electrician license required (or ability to obtain license within 3-6 months of hire)
- 10+ years of commercial contracting experience (electrical)
- 5+ years of supervisory/managerial experience
- 5+ years of experience with leading large scale institutional projects
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, builders, suppliers, and associates at all levels of the organization
- Lead and motivate a diverse team of associates including Journeymen and Apprentice Electricians
- Team player with integrity, compassion, and a high degree of emotional intelligence
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds (supplies, tools, and materials used on job sites)
