JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary:
Coordinates, administers and performs the quality function of an engineering and technical nature to ensure product quality and reliability at minimum quality costs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
A working knowledge of computer systems and software including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and related Engineering Graphics and Database software.
A thorough understanding of the 8-discipline process with emphasis on systematic problem prevention.
Basic understanding of Blue Print reading including G.D.& T., gauging and measurement systems.
Thorough knowledge of SPC techniques and applications including Design of Experiments and Measurement Systems Analysis.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to conduct small group presentations and training sessions.
Thorough understanding of Quality System - TS methodology and requirements.
General understanding of Structural Testing and analysis of results including determination of failure modes.
Completion and documentation of all phases of the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process.
Prepare and submit all necessary PPAP documentation per AIAG guidelines.
Develop gauge concepts and procure gauges for specific programs.
Work with component and tooling/equipment suppliers to improve products and resolve manufacturing problems. This may involve travel to the specific customer or supplier location.
Participate in Simultaneous Development Teams (SDT's).
Participate in internal audits as required.
Train Quality and Production personnel in Quality requirements relating to specific programs.
Support the Product Introduction Process through all phases of prototype fabrication and delivery.
Performs other assignments as required.
Safety: Study, institute and maintain efficient and safe work practices, procedures, facilities; by coordinating with the Human Relations Department and Manufacturing Engineering Department and keep them abreast of all safety and efficiency requirements in order to maintain an accident-free, high efficiency plant operation.
EDUCATION REQUIRED: College degree, preferably in the Engineering field. ASQC certification a definite plus.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Four to six years in a high volume manufacturing environment. Automotive and/or metal working experience preferred.
