Production Lead ensures the line is running proficiently and intercedes to reduce downtime. It coaches and trains line staff to ensure transfer of knowledge occurs and team is focused on the daily goals. The production lead will collaborate with peers and management to facilitate winning the day.
The hourly rate for this role is $20.65/hour. Current vacancies are on the afternoon shift which includes a $0.25/hour shift premium. Due to customer demand a midnight shift is anticipated to begin in July, 2021. This is a full-time position, eligible for full benefit package, overtime (1 1/2 over 40 hours, double time over 55 hours), paid holiday, vacation, tuition reimbursement and more.
Position Responsibilities
- Accountable for the accuracy of downtime reporting for the line (daily direction setting (DDS) board and MES)
- Communicates data to the next shift and line structure team (LST) through hand-offs
- Coaches operators on centerlines (CL), one page lessons (OPL), and other line standards
- Troubleshoots problems and opportunities on the line (initial problem statements)
- Performs line sanitation tasks
- Runs equipment when necessary
- Supports and conducts employee training
- Attends DDS meetings (1st shift)
- Responsible for ensuring supplies are on the line to support production
- Leads 6W2Hs
- Leads Take 5 activities
- Performs startup checklists & quality checks
- Support and validate filler operator quality checks
- Perform process safety inspection (PSI) activities
- Coordinate and with Line Leads/supervisors on resourcing
- Ensures break rotation occurs timely, filling in when needed
- Communicates misses/gaps to Line Lead/Supervisor
- Ensure the escalation pyramid is followed to reduce downtime
- Creates OPL
- Promotes a winning culture
Qualifications/ Education/Experience/Skills:
Education:
- High School Degree Minimum
Experience:
- Experience with continuous improvement projects preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of operations experience
Skills required:
- Excellent reasoning skills - ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and make conclusions.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills with good listening skills.
- Familiarity with Continuous Improvementtools and statistical tools is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - both formal and informal including ability to communicate within all levels of the organization
- Strong computer competency required - proficient in Microsoft Office, i.e.Word, Excel, etc.
- Ambitious self-starter with ability to work with minimal direction
- Flexible and able to work well in a team environment
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Comfortable in a fast paced, changing environment
- Comfortable working in manufacturing environment
