Embedded Software Engineer
•Embedded Software development in C/C++ or Simulink and auto-code generation toolsets.
•Develop high level algorithms to control mechatronic devices (BLDC motor, coils, sensors)
•Control BLDC motor commutation and PID development (Speed / torque control)
•Assist in setting up and using motor dynamometers and test stands
•Assist in defining AAM requirements and transfer them to algorithms and embedded software to meet product goals.
•Assist in addressing all embedded software issues as reported by validation as well as field issues in timely manner and according to software release plans.
•Readily document and share overviews and details of your work with others.
•Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical / Electronic or Computer Engineering
•2-4 years product development design including controls, embedded software, algorithm development and automotive production experience.
•Experience writing embedded software in C or C++.
•Knowledge of algorithm development in Matlab Simulink and auto-code generation of embedded software.
•Experience in developing software to control electro-mechanical actuators
•Experience in automotive embedded software development.
•Knowledge in basic BLDC motor control requirements.
•Experience with vehicle communication protocols such as UDS, GMLAN, KWP2000.
•Experience with CAN tools such as Vector CANape, CANoe, Vehicle Spy, etc.
•Hands-on experience with Embedded Software development tools (ie. Compilers, assemblers, linkers & debuggers). Fixed-point experience a plus.
•Work well in a multi-technology group to develop product structure, division of labor between hardware / software / mechanical, and resolve issues.
•Knowledge of DFMEA, design-of-experiments and DVP&R's.
•Ability and willingness to limited international travel.
•Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
This position is primarily located at our Rochester Hills Technical Center but will require some days at our Advanced Technology Development Center in Detroit.
