*Eligible for $1000 sign on bonus ($500 paid upon successful completion of CENA certification and $500 paid upon successful completion of 180 day Introductory Period.)*Paid CENA class available.
**This wil be a shared position between Activities Aide and CENA shifts.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Activity Assistant will assist the Activities Coordinator in planning and implementing the Activity Program which increases the Resident's quality of life and helps them meet their physical, social, emotional, spiritual and cognitive needs.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
High school education or equivalent preferred. Completion of Certified Nurse Aide course required. CENA certification required within 4 months of hire date. Effective verbal communication skills. Works in well-lighted comfortable nursing unit. Walks and stands most of the time on duty. May be subject to elements of time pressure and interruptions of activities. May be asked to rotate shifts or units. May be required to lift more than 35 pounds. Valid drivers license in the State of Michigan required and must be eligible for CDL certification.
ORGANIZATION
Receives instruction and supervision from the Activities Coordinator under the general supervision of the LTC Director of Nurses,

Assist with planning daily activities. Facilitates trips to resident appointments at healthcare facilities.
Facilitate and supervise group and 1:1 interactions as outlined by policies.
Review Care Plans and implement approaches during group and 1:1
interactions.
Chart daily attendance as outlined by policy.
See that each resident is given the opportunity to participate in groups that
will meet their physical, social, emotional, spiritual and cognitive needs.
Assist with any and all duties assigned by the Activity Coordinator.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
