Knowledge of basic math is required. Need to have mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity. Must be able to read and write. Desired skills include ability to read micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and gauging devices. Knowledge of principles of statistical process control along with the ability to both complete and read process control plans and charts is necessary. This knowledge may be acquired through company training. Also must be able to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
This job requires climbing, hours of standing, good vision, good hearing, lifting capability up to 60 pounds, ability to bend, squat, twist, and kneel.
Normally a forty hour work week is the standard. At times it will be necessary to work beyond the eight-hour day. Some weekend work is required as needed according to production schedules. There must be tolerance for working conditions which include the presence of some smoke and oil mist all within health and safety standards mandated by OSHA.
