2nd Shift Operations Supervisor

The Operations Supervisor manages a group of employees on 2nd shift. In this role, you'll manage the day to day operations of the Assembly and Rotational Molding department while maintaining production schedules, planning and assigning work and ensuring product quality standards are maintained. You will have complete oversight over Assembly and Rotomold on 2nd shift to include hiring, training, terminating, disciplining and decisions on performance. Responsibilities
Provide the necessary leadership to manage, coach and direct assigned teams to meet safety, quality, delivery, cost metrics
Manage the team's performance through evaluations, development, training, and promotions
Interview and select new talent
Hold team accountable through coaching and discipline. Motivate and reinforce good behavior through timely recognition.
Communicate and administer company and department policies, work practices and procedures in an effective manner.
Identify, troubleshoot and remove barriers to success by using a data driven problem solving approach to make fact based decisions.
Support, implement and sustain continuous improvement initiatives.
Operate power-industrial equipment
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED
Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum 3 years of manufacturing, production, distribution and/or logistics experience
Previous supervisory experience managing a team of direct reports
Experience with rotational molding or plastics preferred
Experience with Lean System practices across multiple processes
Track record of ensuring equipment is properly maintained and preventative maintenance is performed in a timely manner
Experience in decision making and exercising sound judgement to plan and accomplish goals
Effective communication skills with staff and peers from up and downstream processes
Identify continuous improvement initiatives
Ability to motivate engagement of a diverse group of employees and drive changes
Coach and mentor direct reports
Clear understanding of problem solving process and methods
Identify obstacles within department that may keep employees from being effective; takes action to address issues as they arise.
Ability to work within Microsoft Office Suite
Plans and holds the team accountable to daily tasks and departmental strategic goals
Appropriately receive constructive feedback from team members and leadership to continuously improve professionally.
Required Physical Demands
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or moved up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds.
