Child Welfare Program Manager
Team PAE supports the Administration for Children and Families, Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) by providing care and placement of Unaccompanied Children (UC) transferred from the Department of Homeland Security. Team PAE provides an Emergency Intake Site at the Starr Commonwealth Complex to provide additional temporary capacity due to the recent and rapid increase in UC volume.
PAE is currently seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Child Welfare Program Manager. The Child Welfare Program Manager will be required to have knowledge of the policies, procedures, and regulations of social services programs, and of supervisory techniques, personnel policies, and procedures. The duties and responsibilities listed herein are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive. This position is full-time, we expect to have this work for at least 6 months.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.
- Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.
- Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained.
- Ensures proper labor relations and conditions of employment are maintained.
- Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work.
- Monitors case activity and periodically reviews cases to ensure that appropriate services are provided, and referral sources are developed.
- Monitors and evaluates the provision of child services in the work area.
- Assists employees with and reviews cases, handles contacts with clients and others as required.
- Assists staff in developing effective caseload management techniques to maintain timely service to clients.
- Plans and conducts in-service training for subordinate staff.
- Maintains liaison with public agencies, private agencies, and governmental entities.
- Ensures specialized services/programs are in compliance with federal, state, and department mandates.
- Assists the management staff in defining and resolving child services delivery problems.
- May occasionally perform any task assigned to subordinate staff, consistent with any licensing or certification requirements.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Master's degree in one of the following human services area: child welfare, applied sociology, social and/or human services, clinical psychology, child development, criminal justice, counseling, human development and family relations, and community development.
- Four to five years of professional experience in the field of child welfare, children's protective services, foster services, adoption, or social and human services. Three years of the general experience must have been in a supervisory capacity over professional staff responsible for planning, developing, or implementing program services in child welfare, children's protective services, children's mental health or juvenile justice.
- Clean criminal background check
- Clean Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) or Child Protective Services check
