Implement Lean Manufacturing Systems and Standardized Work to achieve line balance to meet program KPI's, benchmark HPU and Productivity Targets.
Develop plans, status, analyze, and provide countermeasures to Launch Timing Plan in sufficient detail to achieve IE/LMS deliverables (JPH, VA%, HPU, Overspeed% etc.) throughout the program.
Coordinate integration activities with engineering teams, suppliers, and in-plant IE team from initial concept through prototype development and into full production.
Provide investment and labor impacts for new program and model year studies.
Lead 'Plan For Every Part' Workshops to define and align multi-functional teams in process, packaging, workstation design, material delivery, tooling, and layouts.
Analyze system data from current programs to improve performance and participate in Throughput Improvement (TIP) Workshops to improve current production programs.
Participate in Virtual Builds and Pre-Production Build events to understand new program build process, tooling, automation, sequence, quality, and test system requirements.
Collaborate with the Pre-Production Organizations to provide feedback on product design enablers regarding ease of manufacturing, reduce complexity and base engineered content (BEC).
Support resolution of ergonomic issues identified and tracked for the program.
Learn and demonstrate solid understanding of IE Tools for operation analysis - Standardized Work (STDS), Assembly Line Balance (APS), Benchmark Calculator (BMC), Simulations, Man-Machine Charts, Indirect Labor Studies, Purchasing Planning & Financial Tracking, Throughput Improvement Process (TIP), Ergonomics Evaluations, Workstation and Plant design using AutoCAD, Continuous Improvement Process (CIP), Problem Solving Techniques, Value Stream Mapping, return on investment Studies, and Layout Development.
Mentor, train, and develop new team members, as required.
Build strong working relationship with Plant personnel and understand plant processes, projects, productivity initiatives, metrics, etc.
Consult, lead, and participate in special project, as required.
Travel, as required by New Program implementation timing and/or support current production continuous improvement and productivity initiatives.
Develop and apply Lean Material Strategies (LMS) including Automated Guided Systems, Automatic Storage & Retrieval Systems and Warehouse Management Systems.
Keep up to date on current product developments and trends in areas of expertise.
Actively identify new areas for learning/technologies and take advantage of learning opportunities.
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent/related field.
Minimum of 5 years of related Industrial Engineering experience.
Manufacturing Plant experience (Engineering, Operations, Leadership, etc.).
Excellent level of analytical ability, presentation and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues.
Exceptional verbal/written communication skills and the ability to adapt to any situation's needs.
Proven ability to lead multiple and difficult projects and assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results.
In-depth knowledge and experience practicing Lean Manufacturing Systems and Strategies.
Proven ability to design work operations that meet safety, quality, and efficiency requirements.
Excellent skills in Microsoft Office, Office 365 applications and AutoCAD.
Capable and willing to travel (Within USA, Canada, Mexico, and abroad).
Knowledge and experience in the Vehicle/Powertrain/Propulsion Development Process from design concept to program execution and launch.
Experience procuring workstation materials (Racks, Dolly, Minomi, Lift Tables, Trays, Bridge & Rail, Lift Assists, etc.)
Experience in Standardized Work (STDS), Assembly Line Balance (APS), Benchmark Calculator (BMC), Simulations, Man-Machine Charts, Indirect Labor Studies, Purchasing Planning & Financial Tracking, Throughput Improvement Process (TIP), Ergonomics Evaluations, Workstation and Plant design using AutoCAD, Continuous Improvement Process (CIP), Problem Solving Techniques, Value Stream Mapping, return on investment Studies, and Layout Development.
Strong project management skills and the ability to work to tight project deadlines.
Certification or experience in Agile Project Management Principles and Practices (PMI-ACP)®
Experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing is highly desired.
Experience in any of the following is highly desired:
Battery, Drive Unit or Fuel Cell high-volume manufacturing.
Supply Chain Systems (ASRS's, AGV, AGC, Dock-to-Line)
Castings systems and manufacturing methods.
