Our experienced CPRI team works with clients around the world, helping to mitigate the risks of doing business globally and crafting innovative solutions like:
Helping protect a mobile power generator's equipment in sub-Saharan Africa against certain political risks not covered in their standard 'all-risks' policy.
Helping a financial institution manage its overall exposure under a letter of credit it confirmed for its client exporting goods to India.
Providing facultative reinsurance solutions to Export Credit Agencies and Development Finance Institutions that will help reduce those entities' exposures to certain obligors, sectors and countries.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Country, Credit, and Economic Research (CCER), the Credit Analyst will be responsible for conducting credit risk analysis and assessments of various trends in the global economy, commodity prices and capital markets. The research will be utilized to support the Credit and Political Risk Insurance (CPRI) team's decision-making in underwriting of corporate, sovereign and financial institution credit risks around the world. The transactions under assessment will include: supply chain finance, structured commodity finance, corporate lending, export finance and project finance. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing the financial statements of corporates and financial institutions to assess single name credit risk and formulating views related to global thematic and market issues.
Responsibilities:
Conduct financial statement analysis and formulate credit recommendations directly to underwriters
Proactively monitor credit limits assigned to corporations and financial institutions
Present at team meetings on a variety of topics such as macro-economic trends, commodity price outlook and other issues effects credit markets
Assist in the management of the Credit and Political Risk Insurance (CPRI) team's exposure management system and communicate with underwriters, analysts, management and reinsurers on various reporting requirements associated with the team's exposure
Report into the head of the Country, Credit, and Economic Research (CCER) by updating/refining credit risk models, conducting industry and thematic research, briefing the CPRI team's leadership on key risk recommendations, and helping to identify key trends affecting the global economy.
What are we looking for:
BA/BS in Economics, Accounting or Finance is required. An MBA &/or formal bank credit training desired.
Prior analyst experience with the ability to develop comprehensive and detailed corporate credit analysis for companies in various industries.
Ability to read and interpret financial statements.
An understanding and interest in economics and global macro-economic trends, geopolitics and its impact on both economics and credit markets a plus.
An individual with strong verbal and written communication skills who has the ability to work in an ability to work in a fast-paced environment making quick decisions while adhering to sound judgment
Technical Skills: Advanced Excel/Word; Bloomberg
