SUMMARY The Screener/Fit Testing Assistant is responsible for either (1) greeting and acknowledging all patients, visitors, contractors, and vendors entering the facility, ensuring they are accurately screened and meet the entry criteria or (2) providing support for fitting approved staff with N95 respirators.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent required.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Familiarity with Microsoft applications and accurate data entry.
Able to wear protective medical gear to ensure safety.
Healthcare experience preferred.
ORGANIZATION The Screener reports to the Manager of Safety or designee. The Fit Testing Assistant reports through a designated leader in Staff Development. May receive input/instructions from onsite leads. Must be self-directed, motivated and able to work independently.

Welcomes and greets visitors, patients, employees and/or providers upon their arrival at the facility/testing site.
SCREENER a. Explains daily safety screenings to visitors and patients or, explains. b. Utilizes current screening protocol tools to screen every patient and visitor attempting to enter the facility. c. Determine if entry into the facility is warranted based on screening protocols. d. Restricts access to facility for anyone who does not pass the screening process and provides guidance per the established protocol. e. Knowledgeable of basic infection prevention including hand hygiene and standard precautions and provides guidance for individuals putting on (donning) and taking off (doffing) masks.
FIT TESTING ASSISTANT a. Conducts N-95 fit-testing procedures with employees and providers to ensure proper respirator sizing and style is issued. b. Issues N-95 replacement masks to employees as needed. c. Maintains inventory of respirators, testing solution, and other fit-testing supplies. d. Answers phone to schedule appointments for fit-testing employees and providers. e. Explains importance of N95 respirators and their role in infection prevention. f. Screens employees and providers to ensure they are suitable for N95 respirator. use and testing g. Inputs data into spreadsheets tracking the issuing and use of N95 respirators.
