Job Purpose
The Assistant Service manager will be the right hand to the Service Manager in the daily operations of the Service Department and in meeting strategic goals set for the branch.
Pay: $49,500 - $60,000 (Depending on Experience)
Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales and Customer Service
Assist with scheduling & assigning work to body shop associates.
Document and diagnose necessary repairs by taking photographs.
Provide effective communication to customers regarding their job orders by preparing estimates for repair work and parts; monitor job schedules to ensure timeliness of repairs and job pricing.
Work closely with customers and insurance companies to obtain necessary authorization and documentation relating to repair work.
Assist with invoicing and collecting procedures.
Assist with maintaining inventory of parts, paint and materials necessary for repair functions.
Personnel Management
Work with Service Manager and Human Resources to select, hire, train, and develop employees.
Provide training and guidance for various Service Department functions, as necessary.
Supervise and mentor all employees and ensure all duties are completed.
Process Management
Coordinator of day-to-day paperwork flow.
Make sure work orders are signed and reviewed with customers and jobs are billed properly.
Coordinating reports to the Service Manager.
Supervise Warranty operation.
Accountable for seeing that service warranty documentation is complete for claim processing.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Minimum of 1 year as a Service Advisor, Heavy-Duty Truck experience and 1 year of lead, supervisor or management experience or responsibilities.
Strong technical knowledge and intermediate computer skills required.
Excellent listening and communication skills
Leadership ability, self-starter, takes charge and follows through
Preferred qualifications:
Education Associate's Degree
Experience and/or Training: 3+ years as a Service Advisor, Heavy-Duty Truck experience and 1+ year of lead, supervisor or management experience or responsibilities.
