The Role
Dematic Corp. is looking for a e-Commerce Retail Solution Consultant in any of our Dematic locations across North America. The successful candidate will have 5 or more years' experience working in retail strategy, ecommerce, supply chain, material handling, or an optimization related field. In this role, the Micro-Fulfillment Retail Solution Consultant will:
Working with business development & sales to develop opportunities with high priority customers, from initial conversation through to sale.
Analyze the customer's business information and convert into design criteria with solutions development team.
Validate that the logistics/material handling ideas have merit through financial analysis and recommend a solution to the customer.
Present the solution to the decision makers and support the closing of the sale.
Essential Role and Responsibilities
The e-Commerce Retail Solution Consultant will engage with Dematic customers to analyze their business needs into innovative solutions.
Works on multiple projects, some with assistance from others but often conduct small to mid-sized projects without assistance.
Performs analysis of customers' business information and develops solutions to meet or exceed customers' requirements.
Participates & approves the development of proposal documents using standard solution offerings.
Develops project plans incorporating all project variables by working with the customer to ensure preparedness & readiness.
Conducts periodic status checks with customer and project execution team to assess progress against plan.
Prepare regular status reports on all project activities, updates Dematic stakeholders on Opportunity Pipeline and project roadmaps.
Support pre-sales activities as needed.
Support solution development team with data collection that accurately represents customer requirements (design criteria, flow charts, etc.).
Stay abreast of current / future operating strategies and technologies by attending industry conferences, seminars, etc.
Ability to think outside the box to concept a wide range of solutions that meet or exceed the design criteria. Concepts may range from manual to fully automated solutions.
To facilitate concept understanding, uses drawings and sketches skillfully.
Evaluates concepts and recommends the best solution. Skilled in using evaluation techniques ranging from simple "pro and con" comparisons & "AB Testing", to sophisticated Return on Investment (ROI) calculations.
Thoroughly understands the practices, methodologies and requirements of the Solution Department and serves as advisor to all group members.
May be exposed to next level of duties and responsibilities (mentoring and training).
Ensures the accuracy, clarity & consistency of a standard design based on requirements.
Uses written descriptions, spreadsheets, charts, and material flow diagrams skillfully.
Thorough understanding of material handling technology, including software an asset
Qualification Requirements
Typically BS/BA in related discipline or advanced degree, where required. Experience in lieu of degree also considered. Certification may be required in some areas.
Typically 5-10 years of successful experience working in retail strategy, ecommerce, supply chain, material handling, distribution center operations or an optimization related field and has successfully demonstrated the key responsibilities as presented above.
Strong innovative and creative thinking, as evidenced in individual work
High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Able to multi-task and work in a high-growth, fast-paced and deadline driven environment successfully.
