Tenneco is seeking a driven, self-motivated Engineering focused student who has an interest in gaining hands-on experience working at our fast paced Powertrain engineering facility located in Plymouth, MI.This is a Co-Op position for the summer and fall terms.

Possible responsibilities include:
- Development work on resistance and laser micro joining (very small welds) lab weld equipment.
- Writing technical reports documenting the development process.
- Collecting and analyzing data for development and supporting plants in Iowa, France, and China.
- Material analysis using cross sectional mounting. This includes the mounting process, documentation of the mounts using microscopes in the lab and reporting on results.
- Lab tests including but not limited to: X-ray, tensile tests, hardness testing and mounting stated above.
- 3D CAD modeling of test fixtures or tooling for lab weld equipment.

Required Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
Student currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
Student with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher
Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the Co-Op period
Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license
Ability to provide own transportation to/from the job site
Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
Student currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
Student with a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
