GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Anesthesia Technician assists the CRNA and Anesthesiologist in the preparation of anesthetizing location. Provides support for the efficient daily functioning of the Anesthesia Department relative to equipment and supply needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Organizes inventories and stocks the anesthesia workroom and equipment storage areas with all supplies and equipment utilized for anesthetic administration.
- Maintains working knowledge of the name and function of all anesthesia equipment.
- Provides cleaning, restocking, replacing of equipment in the clinical environment to ORs, Endo, special x-ray procedures, OB and MRI for various patients of various age groups.
- Maintain all equipment in accordance with Hospital Infection Control standards, CDC guidelines and other pertinent regulations.
- Invasive line set-up.
- Clean, disinfects and sterilize airway equipment.
- Check and maintain specialty carts (Difficult Airway, Emergency, Invasive, Regional)
- Check and maintain specialty boxes/carts (Malignant Hyperthermia box, Code carts)
- On standby during urgent/emergent situations in OR, NORA sites and airway emergencies.
- Provide highest quality of service delivered efficiently, effectively and compassionately as outline in our standards 100% of the time.

- Basic math skills, good communication and interpersonal skills. Superior customer service. Courteously introduces self and provides customers with clear and adequate communication.
- Responds pleasantly and quickly to customer's requests. Anesthesia technician personnel perform a multitude of tasks pertaining to the surgical patient. The Anesthesia technician is responsible for rapid response to ever changing critical situations in the operating room.
