The Dickinson County Healthcare System (DCHS) seeks part-time, weekday Staff Registered Nurses (RNs) to join their Emergency Department team in Iron Mountain, Michigan.
This position is responsible for the total nursing care of patients while in the Emergency Department including triage assessment, determining urgency of presenting complaints, designates triage category/placement, initiates protocols, and provides ongoing assessment and emergency nursing care; reports changes in condition to the Emergency Provider on duty.
RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Comply with best practices in nursing as well as established hospital policies and procedures to render care of patients.
- Maintain effective and professional communication with hospital staff, patients, and care providers at all times.
- Serve as relief Charge Nurse, as assigned.
- Provide patient education.
- Utilize and maintain hospital supplies/equipment in a cost effective and safe manner.
- Document and maintain data on patient record.
WAGE/BENEFITS. Starting pay of $27.27 - $35.26 per hour based on years of experience. Position offers medical, dental, vision, retirement plan, paid time off (sick, vacation) and life insurance.
SCHEDULES AVAILABLE:
- Part-time, 12.25 hour shifts working weekday evenings and nights with start times of 3pm or 7pm; 72+ hours every two weeks.
- Part-time, 12.25 hour shifts working weekday evenings and nights with start times of 3pm or 7pm; 48-60+ hours every two weeks.
The Staff RN participates in the weekend rotation schedule.
MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS.
- Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or ability to obtain within 30 days if hired.
- Previous RN or LPN nursing experience in Emergency Department preferred.
- Certifications in Conscious Sedation, ACLS, TNCC and/or PALS preferred.
- Ability to manage a diverse workload and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to physically and mentally carry out the functions of this position.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a professional demeanor that ensures trust, competence and compassion amongst patients and team members.
- Ability to successfully pass a pre-hire drug screening and background check.
