JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to assist in an support with supervision the implementation of energy and sustainability initiatives for an assigned site/region/account. This position will have a key role in delivering and overseeing sustainability standards, strategies, policies and targets across the client's real estate portfolio. The major components of the strategies include: data collection, project implementation, certifications and labels, energy efficiency, water conservation, waste programs, smart building technology, innovations in sustainable technology, team member education/training, and internal and external reporting, including GRESB.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Identifies cost savings opportunities, budgets for utilities; coordinates energy procurement and energy-related projects on behalf of client accounts. Prepares monthly variance and energy service status reports. Monitors and reports on energy use bill gap analysis and spending trends.
Reviews and understands utility rates and includes this data in reporting as appropriate. Maintains, reviews and analyzes utility bill data and tracks/maintains utility contracts in Utility Insight system as directed.
Provides energy and sustainability related inputs to preventative maintenance and engineering procedures as directed.
Assists in developing site energy profiles. Maintains all support documentation in Energy Star Portfolio Manager.
Assists with site surveys and energy plans.
Under supervision participates in inspections, surveys and analysis on the sites under management.
Understands past, present and future energy plans and performance.
Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree (BA/BS) from four-year College or university. Minimum Two years of related experience and/or training preferred. Familiarity with sustainability best practices; ability to analyze and understand data related to sustainability. Advanced data analytics and MS Excel preferred.
GRESB reporting experience is preferred.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
CEM and/or LEED accreditation preferred.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Ability to write reports, manuals in a pre-designed style and format.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Responsible for setting own project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
