ArtiFlex is looking for an experienced Die Designer who thrives on variety and enjoys a high-paced work environment to join our dynamic team!
Position Summary:
The Die Designer designs the process to build the tool/project for the customer to their specifications according to GD&T. They are responsible for the simulation, strip and design of the tool.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create 3D designs using Unigraphics NX for the manufacture of Progressive, Line, and Transfer Dies.
- Create designs, details, and dimensioning of CAD files and prints for the manufacture of Progressive, Line, and Transfer Dies.
- Work with customer to resolve outstanding issues, (tight tolerances, etc.), before design can be started, obtaining additional prints if needed, etc.
- Generate and/or make changes to electronic files (CAD drawings) in a timely manner after review or customer modifications.
- Fill out check sheets and follow quality check procedures.
- Adhere to time lines as per customer request and internal budgets.
- Create a Bill of Material from the finished, and customer approved, design.
- Design in a cost effective manner with the fewest stations necessary for customer buyoff and die design accuracy.
- Maintain design files and document control.
- Work with Project Managers and support the shop floor throughout die build.
- Take part in the review of the die build, (lessons learned), and continuous improvement.
- Ability to convey and translate technical information to a wide audience.
- Provide guidance to less experienced engineers on the team.
- May perform other duties as assigned or required

Competencies:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school: or two years related experience. Training in 3D modeling software. Unigraphics NX is preferred.
- Strong 3 D modeling and surfacing for the metal stamping die industry
- Knowledge of GD&T
- Ability to get along with and work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
- Project and program management skills; ability to handle multiple projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
