Works directly on and manages a broad-range of new home construction, remodeling and repair projects. Must be able to take a hands-on lead while working with and supervising and coordinating volunteers.
Responsible to assess new projects, prepare cost estimates, identifies and order project materials, manage and coordinate project tools, oversee construction inventory, coordinate and work with sub-contractors when appropriate, secure permits etc. to ensures projects are well organized and completed successfully. Ensure on-site safety, quality of construction, and project schedules.
Qualified candidate will have 3+ years construction management experience, a broad range of hands on construction skills, possess excellent communication skills, people skills and the understanding of the Habitat mission. Must have good driving record management experience. Full-time work with a varying schedule including some weekend availability.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Manage, coordinate and directly work on various construction projects from start to finish
Supervises, coordinate and at times mentor volunteers
Organize facilitate subcontractors
Communicate respectfully and successfully as a representative of Mecosta County Habitat for Humanity
Understands residential construction
Proficient with computers
Schedules work in field
Maintains material inventory and oversees vehicle and equipment maintenance
Able to meet deadlines
