Responsible for
assisting in the delivery of nursing care within the assigned unit scope of
practice following organizational policies and procedures, nursing process
guidelines, standards of care, and standards of practice.
Essential Functionsand Responsibilities:
Collects, records, reports and maintains data.
Observes, documents, and reports patient response to care and takes appropriate action.
Completes delegated aspects of care.
Provides patient teaching using Standard of Care.
Adheres to established principles of aseptic technique and infection control.
Prepares and administers medications and immunizations under the direction of the physician/provider.
Completes and maintains medical records, orders and documentation related to this position.
Participates in telephone triage by gathering information and relaying information to the physician\provider and advises the patient per physician/provider and/or established telephone triage guidelines.
Oversees and evaluates quality control issues pertaining to the laboratory setting under the guidance of MGL laboratory.
Oversees ancillary clinical personnel for technical skills.
Seeks to improve quality of service by continuously developing individual and unit competencies within scope of practice.
Performs other related responsibilities as directed by the Manager.
