Description:
We are looking for General Labor/Driver Helper employees to assist our driver's in the delivery of their products at the Detroit facility.
Employees will be responsible for assisting the driver by following the below day to day functions:
Ride along with the driver on daily delivery routes.
Assist the driver by loading and unloading wine and liquor on/off the truck at the warehouse and at each stop.
Physically lift 50 - 65 pound cases of wine/liquor and stock them onto shelves in the warehouse and pallets to load onto trucks.
Handle two-wheel carts by rolling the carts up and down the ramp onto the truck(cart could be 100-150 pounds with cases on it).
Stack products in back of the truck per customer delivery order.
Candidates may have some interaction with the customers (grocery stores, convenient stores, restaurants).
You will assist in loading the trucks first thing in the morning, and then head out on the route with their driver. The route may last between 8-12 hours straight depending on how many stops they are making that day.
Shift:
6:30am start time - end of route (majority of the time your day will end between 5 - 6pm).
During those first few hours you will be loading the trucks with merchandise, assigned a partner, and/or assisting with whatever warehouse duties may need to be completed before the routes.
There may be days when routes are slow so not everyone will be on a delivery route for the day. We will always give you the option to clean inside/outside the warehouse if you are not needed on the routes. Candidates need to be aware that not every day will they get assigned to a driver and it is your choice to stay working to get paid, or leave with no pay for that day.
You should expect some Saturday work as well. There will be Saturday's that are MANDATORY and scheduled during the week on the calendar where everyone can see. If they miss a MANDATORY Saturday they will be termed.
If any days/hours are changed throughout the contract it will be posted on your news board within the warehouse above the time clock so all employees can see the changes.
