General Summary:
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Critical Care Technician is responsible for direct patient care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles. The Critical Care Technician will provide care according to Beaumont policies and procedures.
Essential Duties:
- Provide patient care assignments as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse.
- Maintains critical care equipment and supplies as directed by unit management.
- Maintains current knowledge/certification.
- Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety and specific job-related hazards.
- Follows the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
- Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter and intra departmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objective.
Standard Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One year of patient care experience as a Nursing Assistant, EMT or EC Tech preferred
- Active BLS from the American Heart Association required
