The Safety Coordinator is responsible for implementing and upholding Safety programs at the Zeeland, Michigan facility to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations and Company Policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Providing leadership and training to the ZFS team in all areas of safety, with a focus on support to ZFS Solutions, LLC and Zeeland Freight Services, LLC. Monitor the training schedule and ensure that the training is effective and efficient. Conducts monthly safety training programs to on-site staff, new employee safety orientation and contractor safety orientation. Tracks completion of all training to ensure compliance.
- Administer the day-to-day compliance of the contractor management system with regard to vetting contractors for the ability to provide services to ZFS.
- Coordinate all administration for the online EHS management program to ensure all employees are enrolled in the system and data is accurate and up to date.
- Updates and maintains the MSDS online system for SDS Management to ensure data is accurate and up to date.
- Administers and monitors the facility wide safety program and recommend methods to ensure employee participation and the implementation of a successful Safety Culture.
- Complete all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Requires a High School Degree or GED. A Post Secondary education is an asset.
- 2-3 years of experience in safety management is preferred. Experience in conducting employee training classes and development of materials.
- Proficient in the PC computing environment including Internet Explorer, Outlook; MS Excel, Word and Windows Operating System. Must have the ability to learn and work effectively with the plants distributed control system.
- Experience in planning, directing, coordinating, and budgeting, activities concerned with the construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
- Must be able to occasionally climb to levels of 125 feet and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
