We are seeking a PROJECT MANAGER to join our team:
Candidates must possess a Bachelors Degree in Management OR have background in a related field.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervises the General Foreman and all others under his charge to ensure proper administration of training, pay practices, employee induction and follow-ups, disciplinary action, work production, adherence to safety practices and interpretation of Union Agreement where applicable.
Responsible for supervising the hiring, firing, and promotions of all employees under his charge.
Directs the daily activities of all personnel under his charge.
Receives and interprets orders by Line Clearance Coordinator of utilities.
Assigns work, enforces safety practices, and obtains permission from property owners to trim trees. Assumes responsibility for the maintenance and accuracy of records. Fills out accident reports. Delegates authority to investigate accidents.
Responsible for cost control.
Assumes responsibility for inspection, proper working conditions, and necessary repairs to tools and equipment.
Conducts field training of new equipment.
Directs emergency situations.
Confers with customers, property owners, general public, other contractors, and representatives of utilities and governmental agencies.
Meets with Regional Manager, System Line Clearance Coordinator, Safety Representatives, and others
HAZARDS
Works in all temperatures and weather.
May work around excessive noise from machines, chain saws, wood chippers, and other equipment with hearing protection.
May be exposed to nature i.e. irritating plants, biting/stinging insects, and dust.
May work on unlevel terrain.
May be exposed to dogs and other animals.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to wear necessary PPE as per task assigned.
Must be able to safely drive an approved company vehicle.
Must be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day.
Must be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, i.e.rain, heat, sun, cold.
Must be able to traverse various terrains.
Must be able to write, read, and comprehend written and verbal job instructions/information.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) and Computer Literate.
Must be able to communicate and handle confrontations professionally.
Must pass a drug test.
Must possess a valid drivers license.
