Rockford Construction is looking for a Communications Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role you will be part of an in-house creative Communications Team, leading the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and Request for Proposal (RFP) process from initial client request to delivery. This involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify strategies and developing and editing content for RFPs/RPQs. This position also serves as an integral part of the project interview/presentation process to strategically position Rockford's services in response to requests from perspective/current clients. Another key responsibility of this role includes supporting efforts in business development through developing and editing written content to support strategic direction of the company and targeted business strategies, including sales materials and collateral.

Key Responsibilities
Lead, manage and organize the development of RFQ/RFP responses, including writing, editing, use of template graphics, print production and assembly, as required.
Provide marketing/communication-related services including content for targeted communication pieces, presentations for project interviews, project-specific qualifications material, and other material to supplement business development.
Archive proposal elements, build on to existing and develop new boilerplate, and update company data.
Writing, editing and coordination of copy of various Rockford collateral: quarterly e-newsletter, Annual Review, Community Impact Report, blogs, website content, project or personnel award submittals and other items, as needed.
Assist in company content strategies to produce regular content in support of Rockford brand.
Build collaborative relationships with leadership team to facilitate team synergy and effectiveness.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field (Communications, English, Journalism, or Marketing).
5 or more years of professional copywriting and editing work experience.
A warm, professional demeanor coupled with excellent interpersonal and communication skills to positively engage with internal and external clients.
Demonstrated initiative and excellent organizational skills, with ability to manage and prioritize a wide variety of multi-step projects and tasks with tight deadlines.
The ability to think strategically and help teams develop sound proposals, marketing and business development content.
The ability to solve problems independently while providing an atmosphere of confidentiality and discretion.
Initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness, with the ability to execute effectively.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
AEC (Architecture, Engineering or Construction) industry experience.
Visualization, layout, and/or graphic design skills that facilitate appealing and effective communication, with experience using Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office programs preferred.

Environmental Factors
The work environment for this position may subject the individual to hazards commonly associated with construction sites. Examples of physical hazards include noise, proximity to moving vehicles, atmospheric conditions, close quarters, uneven surfaces, and elevated surfaces. The individual may also be subjected to outside environmental conditions (weather) where protection may not be available. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times outside the job trailer. Occasional lifting of 50 lbs. or less.
