The objective of the Student Programs at Nexteer Automotive is to select students with high potential and provide them with "real world" work experiences. Work assignments expose students to many of the company's products, processes and procedures. Assignments are designed to assimilate acquired classroom education with actual hands-on work experience in a technical environment. Job Requisition Introductory Paragraph:
We are looking for an inquisitive, highly self-motivated individual who is eager to learn and has good attention to detail and time management skills. Special Skill Requirements: Proficient with MS office, computer savvy, and ability to do hands on work. This position will allow the Student to assist with electrical prototyping for innovative programs. Student would assist with installation of systems in test vehicles and assist in validating these systems. In this position, the Student will have the opportunity to work with upper-level management and enhance their leadership skills. Student would be asked to complete other miscellaneous tasks as they arise.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Acquire, build, and test prototype parts i.e. electric motors, sensors, controllers, circuit boards and wire harnesses.
Perform electrical tests involving any combination of electric motors, sensor, controllers, etc.
Assisting engineers with project duties.
Requirements:
Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in one of the following:
Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
Candidate must be attending a 4-year university local to Saginaw
Candidate must have the ability to work 20 - 32 hours per week during Fall and Winter semesters
Up to 40 during the Summer
Candidate must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale
Candidate must maintain full time credits (12 credit hours) during fall and winter semesters
Candidate must have right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
Must be able to lift 25+ lbs of lab equipment
Strong desire to learn new skills.
Good communication and computer skills
