Job Description

We are seeking experienced, motivated engineers to support the integration and validation of Industry-leading Autonomous and Automated Driving Vehicles as System Bench Lead Engineers.
About the System Bench Lead Engineer Role:
As a System Bench Lead Engineer, you will be responsible to design and build Electrical Benches and Frames used to integrate and validate vehicle electrical architectures. Specific design and build activities that you will be responsible for include:
Design from an electrical representation of the entire vehicle to be built at a bench level test property (Vehicle-Level, System-Level, Subsystem-Level, or Component-Level)
Create appropriate documentation for every circuit on the bench for a specific vehicle program
Lead and direct the bench build process working closely with assigned technicians
Perform functional checks of all primary feature functions
Identify root cause of all bench issues where systems are not working and determine if property is designed and constructed properly; subsequently lead issue resolution activity to completion
Lead and direct the harness verification frame process for assigned vehicle programs
Identify root cause of all harness issues identified and communicate to the appropriate personnel
Report status of testing and validation activities
Produce and maintain test and test property related documentation
Develop new test techniques
Execute test plans and development
Provides technical direction to support personnel
Communicate information to and from internal and external customer organizations
Participate in global workshare and commonization meetings will be required.
Participate in solution of engineering related product problems (Root Cause)
Work with engineering functions, suppliers, plant personnel and others to implement cost reduction, methods improvement, product improvements, and to support program manufacturing build events
Plans and implements test and/or development programs
Coordinates and consults with departments outside engineering as needed
Stays abreast of new technology and competitive products
Regular contact with others outside the work group
Travels as required
This position involves responsibility for development activities throughout a vehicle's lifecycle including:
Definition of bench and test property technical requirements
Electrical design integration and verification
Electrical design testing and validation
This role requires an experienced engineer to lead and drive a cross-functional product development team including collaboration with the following groups:

Global Propulsion Systems and Electrification
Global Electronic Components and Subsystems
Global Body/Safety Electronics
Infotainment and Connectivity
Chassis Electronics
Autonomous and Automated Driving Technology

Additional Job Description
Education Required:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical with Electrical Experience)
Experienced Required:
8 or more years automotive-related work experience, or equivalent work experience required as OEM, automotive supplier, or contract engineer
3 or more years of component engineering release experience with developing and executing technical solutions for electrical components to support new vehicle programs
3 or more years of electrical test engineer experience validating technical solutions for systems, subsystems, or components
Communicating information to and from internal and external customer organizations
Working knowledge of automotive electrical schematic drawings
Preferred Skills:
Advance Degree in Technical field
Electrical Test Bench Design Experience or Knowledge
Electrical Circuit and Test Tool Design Experience or Knowledge
Familiarity with structured problem-solving methods such as:
Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) process
Red-X
Kepner-Tregoe (KT)
Experience with DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis), PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Establish and create electrical component design requirements
