The position of Radio Staff Producer/Reporter writes and produces daily content for radio broadcast and digital platforms. This will include spot packages, two-way interviews, enterprise and feature reports. This position also serves as primary, local fill-in host for NPR News magazines Morning Edition and All Things Considered.
Radio Staff Producer/Reporter I (BR-1)
Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting, Journalism, or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Experience in reporting situations, including impromptu interview questioning and scripted situations.
Experience in field news gathering or remote recording situations.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and project a positive image.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
General knowledge of digital editing and studio situations.
Must possess basic announcing skills.
Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships with faculty, students, visitors and fellow work associates.
Ability to perform the essential functions and requirements of the job.
Radio Staff Producer/Reporter II (BR-2)
Meets all required qualifications of Radio Staff Producer/Reporter I and;
Minimum of two years' professional experience in reporting situations, field news gathering and/or remote recording situations.
Demonstrated professional proficiency in digital editing and studio situations.
Demonstrated professional proficiency in announcing.
Ability to complete tasks independently.
Radio Staff Producer/Reporter III (BR-3)
Meets required qualifications of Radio Staff Producer I, II and;
Demonstrates advanced broadcast and digital copy writing and editing skills, and knowledge of reporting techniques.
Demonstrates advanced ability to operate radio equipment, including knowledge of digital multi-track editing systems.
Must possess advanced announcing skills.
