MACHINE OPERATOR
Novi, Michigan Full Time. Second and Third Shift
About Us: Orotex has immediate openings for Machine Operators within our growing Extrusion Department. These individuals will operate, adjust, set and maintain manufacturing equipment. You will also measure and package product as well as adjust equipment to produce results to Orotex specifications. A focus on quality and timeliness is essential to this important role.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive fork truck to move raw materials and manufactured parts to designated areas
- Operate extrusion machines on designated production lines as trained
- Provide minor maintenance of extrusion machines in order to keep materials running
- Monitor level of materials in machine
- Adjust equipment within extrusion department as trained to produce quality product
- Package product as per packaging specifications
- Lead small groups of operators
- Work overtime as required to meet production requirements
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in an industrial setting
- Previous experience operating a forklift
- Basic mathematical skills and ability to read a tape measurer, calipers and a digital scale
- Ability to use hand tools
- Ability to read and write in English and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to work ongoing overtime as required with or without advance notice
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. on/off throughout shift and at times, up to 50 lbs. during a shift of 8 – 12 hours
- Ability to stand throughout an entire 8 to 12 hour shift
Potential Work Environment: Temperatures may vary at times from hot and cold. At times, non-toxic fumes. Second shift hours are 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Third shift hours are 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. This position often requires overtime depending on workload.
Physical Requirements: Standing, reaching, grasping, climbing, twisting, pushing and pulling objects, crouching, sitting, viewing a computer monitor, lifting up to 35 lbs. on/off during your shift and up to 50 lbs. several times throughout a shift, bending, stooping and walking. Safety glasses are provided and required in the molding press area only.
