Job Summary:
Performance of electrocardiograms for inpatients and outpatients within the hospital.
Primary Job Duties:
Verifies patient location. Explains procedure to patient. Performs EKGs on patients off all ages, enters patient information into machine, computer and/or logs as applicable. Other related duties as assigned. Notifies appropriate personnel as necessary if patient needs further assistance.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of certificate program including EKG technique and interpretation, with advanced interpretation preferred.
Experience: Six months EKG performance, hospital or cardiology clinic/office preferred.
Licensure: None
Skills & Abilities: BCLS, light typing, knowledge of normal and abnormal electrocardiographic data.
