*GENERAL SUMMARY: *
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Nurse Tech is responsible for direct patient care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles. The Nurse Tech will provide care according to Beaumont policies and procedures. Performs activities under the direction of the RN, per job description and competency skill validation, provides care according to Beaumont policies and procedures. Applies the Core Concepts of Patient- and Family-Centered Care (PFCC) in practice and uses this knowledge to personalize care for each patient/family. Partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning the plan of care with the RN. Recognizes the roles of the interdisciplinary team, patient and family care partners and utilizes them appropriately as resources in planning patient care. Documents patient information and required data in appropriate areas of the electronic medical record. Seeks ongoing learning experiences to keep current with practice and promote self-growth. Demonstrates knowledge of Chain of Command process and initiates as needed.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS:
Education / Training: Currently enrolled and attending an accredited school of registered nursing. Considering those graduating December 2020 or later.
o External hires: Must be enrolled in a Bachelor of Nursing Program (BSN) required.
o Internal BH employees: May be enrolled in a BSN or ADN program. ADN graduates will be required to sign a BSN completion agreement upon hire/placement in a graduate nurse position.
o Transcripts required at the time of hire.
Work Experience: Clinical experience as a Student Nurse and additional clinical experience preferred. Completed fundamentals of nursing and one medical surgical clinical rotation required.
Certification, Licensure, Registration: Current AHA BLS required.
