The temporary Education Specialist (ES) will be responsible for; assisting in the development and writing of curriculum, reviewing and inputting classroom activities into Learning Care System, as well tracking the classroom utilization of Learning Care System. The Education Specialist will also fulfill other education-related duties as outlined by the Education Manager.
This is a temporary 12-week assignment with full-time hours (40 hours per week).
Essential Functions/Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Curriculum development - The ES is responsible for assisting in writing proprietary curriculum and enhancements to existing curriculum used to help school staff implement curriculum as intended.
Actively participate in the continuing revision and improvement of the curriculum, including researching and presenting new ideas for revision, and writing and creating new activities that follow the LCG vision of safety and education.
Have familiarity with various educational philosophies: Reggio Emilia, HighScope, STEAM, STEM, Multiple Intelligences
Transpose curriculum activities from a Word document to Learning Care System.
Utilize Excel to track activities written.
Regular attendance via Teams is required to ensure necessary teamwork, personal interaction, and supervision.
Friendly, enthusiastic and energetic with customers, co-workers, and managers. Promote and project a positive company image; treats others with courtesy and respect.
Actively participate in the creation, development and implementation of tools and resources that will differentiate and strengthen Learning Care Group educational programs.
Support Education Managers in gathering and evaluating data as needed.
Education:
BA in early childhood education or related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of teaching and/or leadership experience in the early childhood, Kindergarten or Early Elementary space
Previous experience in a licensed childcare center as a Lead Teacher, Assistant Director or Director preferred.
Skills & Abilities (i.e. technical, organizations, knowledge, etc.):
Must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, all essential functions of the job.
Excellent customer service and follow-up skills with both internal and external customers.
Capable of working with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
Effective communication skills, written, verbal and interpersonal.
Proficient time management, organizational skills and ability to meet established deadlines.
Fun, creative spirit, a commitment to life-long learning and an ability to work effectively on multiple projects in a high-energy team setting.
Skilled writer, presenter, researcher and/or trainer/facilitator.
Proficient computer skills with strong understanding and use of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook.
